A Homeowner Project
Roadmap

When you work with Slaten Building Company, you're not just hiring a contractor — you're gaining a partner who's invested in the outcome of your project. We guide you clearly through every phase, from the first conversation to the final walkthrough.

Our process is designed around three values: planning clarity, quality execution, and open communication. We don't just build — we build relationships that last beyond the project.

The Process

01

Consultation + Project Review

Pre-Construction

We review project goals, inspect the space, and discuss project scope, feasibility, and next steps.

FreeNo commitment
02

Project Development + Design

Pre-Construction Fee

Following proposal acceptance, a pre-construction fee is collected to begin initial project development and design. Architectural plans, permitting, and project estimates are finalized. Planning and approvals may take approximately 4–8 weeks.

Client Approval Gates

Nothing moves to the next phase without your sign-off. You stay in control of your project at every decision point.

Clear Process for Any Changes

Scope changes happen — and that's okay. What matters is how they're handled. At Slaten Building Company, every change order follows a clear, documented process so there are never any surprises to your budget or timeline.

No change is started without your written approval. Period.

1
Change Identified

Either party identifies a needed scope change during the project.

2
Written Quote Provided

We prepare a clear cost and timeline impact for the change.

3
Client Approval

You review and approve (or decline) the change order in writing.

4
Work Proceeds

Only after your approval do we proceed with the change.

Our Workmanship Warranty

We stand behind every project we complete. Our written workmanship warranty gives you peace of mind after the keys are handed over — and we remain available if anything comes up post-project.

We Stand Behind Our Work

Our warranty covers defects in workmanship and installation. If something isn't right after we're done, we make it right — no runaround, no deflecting to subcontractors.

Before any project closes, we conduct thorough inspections, resolve your complete punch list, and provide warranty documentation in writing. That's our standard — not our exception.
